Senior Vice President, Ports & Destination Development, Carnival Corporation & plc
Giora Israel, a 28-year travel industry veteran, joined Carnival Corporation in 1992 as director of special projects and was appointed vice president strategic planning seven years later. In this capacity, he was involved in a variety of international activities for the company in Europe and other parts of the world.
Prior to joining Carnival, Israel served in a variety of capacities at hotels and tourist attractions in Israel, the Bahamas and St. Thomas between 1975 and 1992, including five years with Hilton International and two as a private consultant.
During his tenure at Carnival, Israel also served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Carnival and Epirotiki Cruise Line joint venture which was later dissolved.
Currently, as Senior Vice President, he heads Carnival Corporation’s ports and destination development arm that is involved in port development throughout North America, Central America and the Caribbean
Mr. Israel also serves as the President of Carnival Ports Inc., Long Beach Cruise Terminal, Cozumel Cruise Terminal S.A. de C.V, Grand Turk Cruise Center, and Mahogany Bay.
In 1999, Mr. Israel with Dr. Lawrence Miller co-authored the first dictionary of the cruise industry, which was published in London.
An Israeli native, Israel is a 1975 graduate of Tadmore Hotel College in Herzliah.
